It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Rosemary “Ro” F. Teel, 87 years old, of Kennett Square, PA. Ro passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Ro was the daughter of the late Leo Furia and the late Philomena (Mobilio) Furia of Kennett Square, PA.

Ro is survived by her three daughters, Andrea McGovern (William), Paula Angelucci (David Kendig), Allison Fertig (Kevin). She was the proud grandmother-“Nauni” of nine; William McGovern Jr. (Janey), Stephen McGovern (Kati), Andrew McGovern (Brittani), Morgan Clasing (Christopher), Adrienne Seery (Shane), Monica Angelucci (Garrett Brink), Brooke Fertig, Kevin Fertig Jr. and Kendall Fertig; great-grandmother of 10. She was predeceased by her baby daughter, Amanda Pannell and her three brothers.

Ro was a 1954 graduate of Kennett High School and remained close friends with her classmates.

Ro worked at the Bell Telephone Company prior to marrying her high school sweetheart, Andrew P. Pannell Jr. She worked as a bookkeeper at the family-owned mushroom business, New Garden Farms, Inc. After raising her three daughters, Ro worked at Longwood Gardens in various positions until her retirement in 2003. Ro was a Girl Scout Co-Leader when her daughters were young. She served as an active volunteer with the Ladies of St. Patrick’s Church and also served on the Pastoral Council. Ro was known for her highly sought-after Hot Butter Pound Cake at the St. Patrick’s annual bake sale.

Ro loved her family and friends. She cherished being a mother and taking care of her family and extended family. She enjoyed entertaining especially for family celebrations and decorating for the holidays. Being an excellent cook and baker, her family especially enjoyed Sunday spaghetti and meatball dinners along with her famous bread pudding dessert. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and was their biggest fan attending all of their sporting events, dance recitals, and school activities. Ro cherished time spent with her family and friends at the beach and other special vacations to Italy, Ireland and Bermuda. She was a wonderful and fun-loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed and remembered always.
